Day 01. Arrival from origin country to Mendoza (746 masl)

We will be waiting for you at the Gobernador Francisco Gabrielli International Airport (El Plumerillo). Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to the Hotel.

Day 02. Mendoza (746 masl) – Hotel

After obtaining individual park entry and ascent permits, with the help of your guide, we meet at your hotel to finalize all expedition arrangements. Welcome dinner and accommodation in the city of Mendoza.

Day 03: Mendoza - Penitentes (2700 m)

Driving time approx. 5 hours. Overnight accommodation. We begin to climb little by little for good acclimatization.

Day 04: Penitentes (2700 masl) - Confluencia (3368 m)

From Penitentes camp to Confluencia, Aconcagua is a trek in the Aconcagua Provincial Park that starts from Penitentes and reaches the Confluencia base camp. This route offers impressive views of the South Face of Aconcagua and is a first step to start high-altitude mountaineering, with low technical difficulty and moderate to high physical difficulty. Day 05. Confluencia (3368 masl) acclimatization trek to Plaza Francia (4200 m)

We have included this day to better acclimatize and provide more opportunities to reach the summit. We will hike to the Plaza Francia viewpoint. This is a fairly long stretch with a very significant elevation gain. For this reason, it is highly recommended, as part of the acclimatization plan, a trek to the South Wall viewpoint (Plaza Francia, 4000m) in order to achieve gradual acclimatization and arrive at Plaza de Mulas in better condition.

Day 06. Confluencia (3368 masl) - Plaza de Mulas (4250 m)

After breakfast at the camp, we begin the walk through a wide beach plain of Horcones creek, then climbing up a very steep zigzag path we reach our camp Plaza de Mulas, the largest base camp in Aconcagua Park. Plaza de Mulas is a true city of tents. This camp has specialized medical service, the Mendoza Police rescue patrol, and park rangers, all working in a coordinated effort. A 15-minute walk west of the camp is the Plaza de Mulas Refuge.

Day 07. Rest day at Plaza de Mulas (4250 m)

The first day at base camp is always a rest day and a good occasion to take a bath and explore the local terrain. Meals and overnight stay.

Day 08. Plaza de Mulas (4250 masl) - ascent to Mount Bonete (5000 masl)

We have included this climb to continue having good acclimatization and with the goal of obtaining more opportunity to reach the summit of Aconcagua.

Day 09. Plaza de Mulas (4250 masl) – Camp 1 (5050 masl)

After breakfast at the camp, we begin the ascent from Plaza de Mulas up a slope to Camp 1 (5050 m.). The route takes us slightly steeply through dirt and rocks until reaching our camp.

Day 10. Camp 1 (5050 masl) - Camp 2 Nido de Cóndores (5550 masl)

After breakfast at the camp, we continue with our expedition, this time it is our turn to climb to Camp 2 called (Nido de Cóndores). It is located on a high pass at 5550 m., a beautiful place that offers a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains of the Argentine Andes range. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11. Acclimatization day at Camp 2 (5550 m)

This day is dedicated to improving altitude acclimatization. The guide may propose different activities according to the group's conditions. We take the opportunity to rest and give our bodies more chances to acclimatize. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12. Ascent from Camp 2 (5550 masl) - to Camp 3 (5970 masl)

After breakfast we begin our 4-hour walk to Camp 3 at 5970 m.a.s.l. located on the North Ridge. As always, the path leads us through rocky and moving terrain. Once we arrive, we set up our tents to have dinner and rest, getting ready to attack the most awaited summit of the expedition the next day.

Day 13: Reserve day in case of bad weather

We have two additional days reserved in our itinerary to attempt to reach the summit. These extra days are integrated to provide the best possible conditions for each participant to reach the top. Overnight camping.

Day 14. Camp 3 (5970 masl) - Aconcagua Mountain Summit (6962 masl)

We leave very early because it is the most demanding day of the expedition. We ascend through the North Ridge to the Independencia Refuge at approximately 6,500 m. We ascend through the Portezuelo del Viento, climb through the Canaleta and the Filo del Guanaco that leads us to the summit. The prize for our effort awaits: a 360° view and the experience of overcoming that you only finally understand when you reach it. At the end of this experience, we descend to Camp 3 for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 15. Return from Camp 3 (5970 masl) - Base Camp (4250 masl)

Return from Camp 3 to Base Camp. We will enjoy a great dinner to celebrate the experience lived in the most awaited expedition in history in the Argentine Andes. Overnight camping.

Day 16. Base Camp (4259 masl) - Penitentes (2700 masl) - Mendoza

We have breakfast at the camp and then begin the descent from Plaza de Mulas to Penitentes. Private transport awaits us here to take us to the hotel in the city of Mendoza.

  • Mandatory MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR EXTREME SPORTS (Must cover helicopter evacuation and rescue)
  • Required personal equipment.
  • Rescue costs or other expenses due to abandonment of the expedition
  • Mule riding, pack mule, individual transfers, extra nights, meals, extra costs for changes to your plane ticket, personal porter service, etc.
  • It is recommended to hire Travel Insurance to cover these expenses
  • Personal expenses (tips, laundry, phone, drinks, satellite phone, internet access, showers, and porters)
  • Extra hotel nights in case of early return to the city / in case of not using the "free days" and deciding to descend to Mendoza.

Booking Conditions

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.

This reservation will cover the following:

  1. Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
  2. Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
  3. Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
  4. Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

There are 02 rescue units in Huaraz
  1. National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
  2. Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
